Children’s development has a rapid growth between birth to age 3, marking it as a sensitive period for introducing formal educative concepts. Maria Montessori described this phenomenon as the period of the “absorbent mind” – meaning the child absorbs knowledge from their surroundings and by observing others modelling behaviour.

Our Bambini program, which is licensed to hold 10 infants, provides an open environment where children can meaningfully engage socially and gain related strength and coordination all within safe limits made available by their caregivers. Child-sized furniture supports children’s independence as they are beginning to exhibit mastery of their own motor control through their ability to lead their own exploration of the environment. Visual and Tactile learning tools support the development of children’s vision and coordination. Infants in our Bambini classroom will be exposed to real life experiences, a space to grow, and learn how to take their first steps in all areas of life.

Our PRE-CASA program is for children from 18 months – 2.5 years old, making it a blended age group. Mixed-age grouping is a hallmark of Montessori education, due to its ability to encourage respectful interactions between older and younger children, foster leadership in the older children, and foster confidence in the younger children to accomplish greater challenges.

PRE-CASA introduces the concept of letters, phonetic recognition, quantities, visual discrimination, coordination and concentration. Activities in our PRE-CASA program, as well as the preparation of the learning environment, promote self-help concepts, motor control, language development, and social skills. Children’s meaningful experiences in our PRE-CASA program are intended to be a stepping stone to provide them with the tools they need for further success in our CASA programs.



CASA (2.5-6 YEARS)

We currently have 5 total CASA rooms licensed to hold 24 children each. We have JR. and SR. Casa programs. Unlike a traditional mainstream school setting where the classroom is teacher led, the teacher in a CASA program is an observer who gauges where children’s interest and existing knowledge is geared towards. Children’s learning is set to their own pace, where their own individual interests are followed – fostering an intrinsic motivation to learn, explore, and play. In this curated CASA environment, we hope to instill into children that their progress in development is its own reward. A wide array of Montessori materials in Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Math and Culture are available to the children in our programs as they investigate concrete to abstract concepts, and master tasks independently through repeated practice.
